What Made Us Build PlatePost

You should see the food before you order it.

Restaurants make some of the most compelling food on the planet. Then they hand you a list of names and prices, and ask you to imagine it.

PlatePost exists to close that gap.

The Problem

The restaurant menu hasn't changed in decades.

A kitchen spends years getting a dish right. A guest meets it as six words and a price — maybe a line of description, if they're lucky.

So guests order the safe thing. They stick to what they already know. They miss the dish the chef is most proud of because they couldn't picture it. They leave without experiencing the restaurant at its best.

Meanwhile the platforms that should be helping take a 30% cut, own the guest relationship, and make every restaurant look the same. It's not a restaurant problem — it's a distribution problem.

Great restaurants deserve a way to show their food — not just list it.

A New Model

A menu you watch, not one you read.

Every dish gets a short clip, filmed on the plate the kitchen actually sends out. A guest sees it before they order, and the dish the chef is proudest of stops being the one nobody picks.

The menu answers questions too — ingredients, allergens, portions, how spicy. A guest doesn't have to flag anyone down, and the kitchen doesn't have to stop.

What that changes:

  1. 01

    The food does the selling.

A guest can see exactly what's coming before they commit, so the kitchen's best work isn't the thing people skip past.

  2. 02

    You keep the guest.

No third-party cut. No competing ads on your page. Your brand, your data, your guests.

  3. 03

The menu answers, not your staff.

Ingredients, allergens, portions and special requests — handled 24/7, without pulling a server off the floor.

The Future We're Building

Every restaurant deserves a storefront as good as their food.

The restaurants running PlatePost aren't using a discount or a trick. Owners report bigger average tickets for one reason: their guests could finally see the food.

We want that to be unremarkable. Every chef, every owner, with a menu that does their cooking justice.
